Suzanne Jones is a UK-based singer-songwriter. Her music successfully blends folk based-ballads with contemporary pop.
Loud conversation, spilled beer, sticky floors – the audience freeze in a damp cellar. Suddenly a warm voice radiates through the darkness. Three chords strike with clarity and confidence.
Conversations die as the song is born… That voice warms their hearts in a language they recognise… the ancient language of lost love.
Checking the temperature, this is how Suzanne dipped her toe into Liverpool’s acoustic scene in 2009. Starting with tiny gigs at the Jacaranda, Mocha, and Zanzibar, our heroine plumbed the depths of her soul and conjured up songs that surprised all those present.
Poignant is the word to sum up those early gigs. Six Strings plucked with simple passion and a voice that soared. A simple and time-honoured approach used by singer-songwriters the world over. But what makes Suzanne stand out from the crowd? Is it the intelligent lyrics, or simply that hers is the voice of experience?
